The wrap length is the distance from one edge of the tape to the next tape edge on the taped cable. The inches per minute signal comes from the line speed motor and the rotations per minute comes from the taping head motor. The M-Trim (or M-Drive) controls the ratio (wrap length) as shown. The wrap length is entered into the M-Trim keypad. The tape shown might actually be foil shield, string wrap, non-adhesive plastic or paper insulator. The setpoint in the M-Trim is in the inverse relationship to the motor speed.
